Stuck in airport

Flight : Vancouver to Toronto 1300hrs, Air Canada Flight AC64

12:25 : Broken airplane
12:35 : Move to next gate for "replacement" airplane
12:45 : Staff cleaning and prepping replacement Aircraft.
13:00 : I'm sorry, cleaning crew notices wet carpet on floor, not sure what it is.
13:05 : Maintenance team thinks the aircraft is leaking something.

WTF? 2 broken airplanes???

13:20 : Flight delayed to 18:00hrs
13:45 : Aircraft is "fixed"...yay!
14:05 : I'm sorry, the crew of Flight AC64 has gone home. Aircraft is ok, no flight crew

....

14:25 : The saga continues....

14:35 : Flight delayed now to 16:00hrs. I suppose better than 18:00. So they found someone to fly the plane?

Canon 50mm F1.4 USM

Got a new lens last weekend while I was in KL doing both my US and Canadian visas.

Backlit with a 5W incandescent lamp.

Very good lens except it is a little on the soft side wide open. It gets stupid sharp by f2.8 to f4.0. AF is quiet and fast and its a very good value for money lens. Very good "bokeh" if you are into that sort of stuff.

This would be a good upgrade to my very cheap and "toy like" 50mm f.18II, which oddly doesn't like to work on my 400D..but works fine on my 450D.

Most of the day and memory card was filled with these which restricted me to a less than ideal shooting position and angle, so if the pictures all end up looking the same, well you'd know why. ;p





Ah, that said, lets move on to the pictures. I will upload more once I get to sort through all of them.


Our "Rempit" friends we there to entertain the crowd. Off the streets and on the Track seems to be the moto of the day!

Perak Drift 2009 : Practice Day

New toy

Got myself a Nokia E90 Communicator as replacement for my 3 year old HP Pocket PC on its last legs...




I like it so far, but the current headache is to find Symbian versions of the Apps I used to use. Anyone know how I can find VNC aps for Symbian?

PRO: Damn loud speakers, solid phone that feels it would last, quite fast for a smart phone, WIFI, GPS with Garmin XT, BT, 3G...the works. Big keyboard, Workable camera, large Widescreen that works well with surfing webpages, Quickoffice that can edit MS Office 2007 documents, good battery life (I know, its not very good but remember I used to use a Pocket PC). Quite good value for money now being 1/2 the launch price of $4000 back in '07...

CONS: Yep, its a little on the big and heavy side. No touchscreen, no optical trackpad (Like the Xperia, N97 etc), No CTRL-key combo, Auto caps (which can't be disabled????), 2.5mm headphone jack (a phone this big and they can't put a standard 3.5mm jack???)

Last but not least, Fast like his father, our track junkie friend Su, which managed a podium finish (sorry didn't stick long enough for the prize ceremony). Congrats!

I only stayed for a few minutes and didn't take much shots, since the organizers held the event mid afternoon. Way to hot to stay out there and shoot.
